Welcome to the Port St. Lucie Police Department.  

Incorporated in 1961, the City has grown rapidly from 330 residents to over 166,000 today (2008 estimate).  This sprawling community covers 115 square miles on Florida’s Treasure Coast, midway between Miami and Orlando. 

 

 

The police department was started in 1980 and has established itself as one of the premier law enforcement agencies in the country.  As one of the first 200 agencies achieving international accreditation, the department is the proud recipient of some of law enforcement’s most prestigious awards.

 

 

The men and women who serve the city are proud of working in a collaborative effort with the community to assure public safety and enhance the quality of life.  These efforts have consistently led the city to being named as one of the safest in the nation.
